Out and About.

Oh, hello outside world! we meet again. My first attempt to went out was a success.
Still scary though, so we still need to take precautionary measures, such as carrying alcohol/sanitizer, gloves would be better and of course always wear your mask. Please don't judge, I know its really important to stay at home at this moment, but hey! girls gotta do what she's got to do.
So I decided to go to the mall yesterday to run some errands like paying my bills and do some grocery shopping.

The "new normal" experience was quite smooth actually, I like how people are practicing social distancing. I got there around 11:30 am, first you need to fall in line before entering the premises. Then at the entrance you shall present your quarantine pass then the guard will give you a piece of paper where there is until what time you can roam around inside is written. If I'm not mistaken, the allotted time per person is one and half  hour. Which get me a little bit anxious because I'm not used to shop with a time limit plus i tend to be distracted whenever some things caught my attention.

So, I suggest before you go make sure that you listed all the things you need to buy or as much as possible make an itinerary. Which exactly what I did. Though, I extended a bit for another hour cause the line in the payment for the grocery is quite long. I don't know how they monitor the "time limit" thing, because no one bothers to call me out, but I guess that's where your self discipline comes in. When i got home I make sure to disinfect the things that i bought and I also take a warm bath just to make sure that I won't spread the virus all over the house in case i carried it along.

But still, please be reminded to stay at home as much as possible and don't go outside unless its necessary. Again, keep safe always. 💋

Reflection

Instead of complaining about the covid-19 and asking why the hell this is happening, maybe we should focus on the positive outcome that it can bring.
We've been too constantly busy about our work and dealing with personal issues at the same time.
A month of home quarantine means a pause from everything. Have you ever thought that this might be our chance, to reflect in life. To spend time with our family, to take some rest, to take care of our self especially our health. A break from all the chaos.
With us being self quarantined at home, we could contain the spreading of the virus. Also, the less people outside, the lesser the pollution around.
And in that way we are giving mother earth a chance and time to heal.

Apocalypse

I thought 2020 would be a great year to start over, but I guess not. Were just in the first quarter, but a lot of bad things happened, from the Australia bush fire, World War 3 threat, Taal Volcano Eruption, Kobe and Gigi Bryant's (and seven others) death, and now the newest threat to us, the pandemic COVID-19, which already caused a thousands of deaths worldwide.

It's like The Walking Dead and Kingdom minus the zombies. It's scary how it can spread fast like a wildfire, the numbers of infected are growing rapidly. It's heartbreaking that for now all we can do is follow the safety precautions to avoid spreading the virus and cooperate to the one month community quarantine that is being implemented in Metro Manila starting today.
Let's hope and pray that one of these days we can find a cure to end this nightmare. For now, please keep safe my dearest friends. 😷

PS: As for my future Crown Prince Lee Chang,Glenn Rhee, Kim Shin,Christian Grey,Joker,Edward Cullen,Pres. Lee Young-joon,Jughead Jones - all in one (too much character reference going on huh?! 😅) we haven't met yet, I supposed. But I know you're somewhere out there. Wherever you are, please take care of yourself so we can both survive this plague and live our happily ever after. 😂

Breaking The Habit

Dear self, its time.

Is this somehow relatable...
You're doing fine with your own thing then suddenly someone's gonna pop-up in your life out of nowhere, then you'll let them in. Ok, maybe I knew all along that I will get myself into trouble afterwards, but because you want to give this person a chance, your too in-denial  about the red flags. You welcomed this piece of shit along with thy circle of friends with your arms wide open. Without even imagining how they can be so consuming, draining and disturbing.

And after dealing with it for years, you've come to a point, a turning point. A realization that this cycle must end. Cutting them off into your life, slowly, one by one.

At first, I was hesitant, I even gave my self a deadline when to do it, but i kept delaying it, baka kasi sabihin I'm so"bitter". Some of my friends keep telling me that its okay, that my inner peace is more important than theirs. Which make sense, someone just cut me out of their life, leaving me alone, dealing with the toxicity they left behind, might as well do the same.

As per Marie Kondo's KonMari Method in Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, when you are decluttering, before you throw your stuff away, hold onto that item first, then ask yourself, does this thing still bring happiness?, if it still sparks joy keep it, if it doesn't, then its time to thank them and let go.

I think it also can be applied with people in your life. When that person, or group of people no longer serves your life anymore, just simply cut them off.

It will give you more sanity that you deserve and self love.

Happy Easter!

What, a coincidence that my name-day falls on Easter Sunday, when we celebrate the resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ. It felt like it was my rebirth too, so I decided to launch my new blog site today, yey!

Last month, I was in the hospital for a week, because of pneumonia. The doctor said that there's a fluid in my lungs and I was also anemic, causing me a hard time to breath plus I was diagnosed with SLE — Systemic Lupus Erythematosus last 2015 (I might make a separate blog post for this), which make things a little bit complicated. It's my first time to be confined in the hospital, so it was alarming for me and my family. Thank God, I didn't need an operation, to discharge the fluid.

After that life-threatening situation, I decided to change my lifestyle. From junk-food junkie to fruits and veggies. And that's the rebirth of a new healthier version of me plus the blog. Sometimes a little change is a good thing. Better to be healthy than sorry, right?! Okay, I think that's enough reflection for today. Let's go celebrate life.  Cheers to a new chapter of life and endless adventures. Until next time!

Happy Easter Egg Hunting! 😄

Love Jen, 💋
